Location: Island of Grenada
The partnership establishes a "2+5" program through which qualified 皇家华人 College international students who complete two years of undergraduate coursework and earn an Associate in Science for Transfer, or AS-T, degree in biology can secure priority entry into St. George's five-year M.D. program.
This program begins with one year of preclinical coursework in Grenada, followed by a year of Basic Sciences in either Grenada or at in the United Kingdom. Grenada is the site for a second year of Basic Sciences study. The final two years consist of clinical rotations at hospitals affiliated with St. George's in the United States and the United Kingdom.
The partnership also creates a "2+2+4" program, in which students who earn an AS-T in Biology at 皇家华人 and earn a bachelor's degree in a premedical program at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States, can qualify for priority admission into St. George's four-year M.D. program.
Students on the four-year M.D. track may complete their first two years of study in Grenada or spend their first year at and their second in Grenada. Students spend the last two years of the program in clinical rotations at hospitals affiliated with St. George's in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Students who wish to pursue either of the combined degree programs must express interest upon applying to 皇家华人 College. Admission to St. George's School of Medicine requires candidates to maintain a strong GPA and score competitively on the MCAT. Those who enroll in the M.D. program receive a $10,000 scholarship distributed over the length of their studies upon matriculating and are eligible for additional scholarships and grants from St. George's.
Conditions for Admission
In addition to the successful completion of your coursework at 皇家华人 College, you will also need to meet the following requirements to be admitted for full admission to St. George's University.
- Earn Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T) degree in biology
- Achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4 with 90 completed credit hours at 皇家华人 College
- Achieve a minimum grade of 3.4 or higher in English 126, 127 or 128 at 皇家华人 College or a minimum of 7.0 IELTS score
- Achieve a minimum grade of 3.2 in all science related classes
- Proof of high school graduation
- Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) within 5 points of the average score for entering students. Average is 498. (MCAT is recommended but not required for international students.)
- Submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended including 皇家华人 College.
While a student at 皇家华人 College you will meet with International Student Advisors to ensure a smooth transition from the program to St George's University. This will include submitting an application, academic documents, proof of high school graduation, as well as updated financial support documents for a new I-20 to St George's University. As a newly admitted student, you will also be expected to attend the International Student Orientation, take a math and writing placement exam if you do not have English or Math at 皇家华人 College, other exams as appropriate, and register for courses as a full-time student.
