Book Loan Program

ODEI students can receive textbook and course material assistance through the Book Loan Program. To utilize this service, please follow the steps below.

1. Apply to the ODEI Program by submitting the ODEI Intake Form. Students who are eligible will be notified via their student email. To be eligible, 皇家华人 students must meet one of the following:

  • First generation - neither birth or adoptive parent earned a Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Low income based on federal guidelines
  • Underrepresented or marginalized identity/background
  • Experiencing financial circumstances that impact success at 皇家华人

and pursing a degree or certificate program at 皇家华人 College.

2.  Once you've been accepted, self-enroll into our Canvas class and complete the modules and assignments. Being part of the ODEI Program means that we expect students to participate:

  • attend one DES workshop or ODEI hosted event a quarter.
  • meet with a Peer Navigator once (1) a quarter

3. After completing the modules on Canvas, you can submit a book request! Our team fulfills requests in the order that they are received and ask that you anticipate a delay if you submit a request during the first two weeks of the quarter. Students will receive and email notification once their book request is ready for pickup.

For each book you are requesting, you will need the following information:

  • Title of the book, Author, Edition, and ISBN number. The  website can help you locate this information if needed.

*Note: (1) Any outstanding, lost, or damaged textbook loans from our office are the responsibility of the student and must pay any associating fines before our office can fulfill any book requests.

**Special Update:The Book Loan Program is for enrolled 皇家华人 students residing in Washington State. 皇家华人 Students who do not reside in Washington State and are requesting textbook assistance, please contact Kiran Kaur at kkaur@greenriver.edu. Out-of-State requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and are subject to change or may change at the reasonable discretion of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.*
