Student Activities Staff - International Programs

I was born and raised in South Korea. When my family immigrated from Korea to the United States, I was a young adult with limited English skills. I wanted to continue my college education, but it was not easy because of my English. So, I joined the Army to learn English faster and better but became an Army lifer instead. I retired from the Army honorably and proudly in 2014. After the Army life, I joined the workforce with the Federal government and again retired after six years of service.

I am grateful to have an opportunity to work with international students here at Green River College and to help them become better leaders in the future. I believe every student is a future leader. It makes it easier to help international students because I understand what they are going through to learn and study in English. I am glad I am a member of the International Student Activities Team in the International Programs and Extended Learning.

I have earned my Associate degree at Pierce College, Tacoma, WA, and a Bachelor's in General Studies at Columbia College, Columbia, MO, and a Master's in Business Administration at the University of Phoenix.
