  • Why was I sent this course?
Legislative action, federal mandates and 皇家华人 College'e equity statement require the college to provide services, prevention training, and response around harmful behaviors on campus. Federal mandates such as Title IX, Campus Save Act and the Jeanne Clery Act, and Washington State legislation including Sam's Law help improve safety at the college. Under the requirements of the legislation, colleges must educate all students, faculty and staff annually on a variety of topcs including: Identities & Inclusion, Consent & Sexual Violence, Alcohol & Other Drugs, Hazing & Intimidation.

皇家华人 along with all of the other campuses within the Washington community and technical college system are utilizing Get Inclusive as one tool to meet federal mandates as well as acknowledge the ethical responsibility to create a safe and equitable learning environment for all students.

  • I've done training like this before, do I really have to do it again?
For many of our students that have professional work experience, are former services members, or went to a high school that taught about these topics, it may seem like this course will be a repeat of information you already know. However this training will discuss unique situations for people on a college campus, and has content that is specific to 皇家华人 College students. So even if you have been through a course like this before, it's still important to know the rules and resources that apply at 皇家华人.
